This also will not stack with the Kensai archetype. The Eldritch Scion magus archetype turns them into a spontaneous caster, and lets them access some bloodrager abilities, but unfortunately doesn't give them most of the bonuses of Bloodrage. I don't see much else that's first party that can help here.ĭevil Trigger can be taken in a number of different directions, depending on whether he wants it to be a cosmetic change or an actual temporary mechanical powerup. Judgement cuts could be handwaved as a Thrown Returning Weapon moving so quickly as to be not perceivable, though if you're going for dex-to-damage this may make the damage output of thrown weapons unimpressive. Mythic rules have very much not kept up with paizo's other works, and only the core rulebook classes are well-supported by them. Outside of that, I would get in touch with the GM and see how many of Vergil's abilities you can introduce as unique mythic path abilities. I've played very little with the mythic rules, but I would definitely consider the Legendary Item mythic path ability applied to Yamato. Generally, you don't want to end your turn next to a creature, and magi have countless options to avoid that. Magi are absolute bananas at exploiting the action economy, and can easily emulate Vergil's "teleport spamming" through spells like Bladed Dash, and Dimension Door + Dimensional Agility Feat Line. I ended up building a BBEG Magus inspired by Vergil, nothing involving the Mythic rules though, and his "Devil Trigger" was very much plot powered. Any recommendations, like suggesting feats or pointing to builds people have done, especially for something like emulating the Devil Trigger for "Vergil" would be incredibly appreciated. Half of this is for him, and we both love Devil May Cry, so I want to do this justice. With Wrath of the Righteous going all to 20th level, AND being mythic, I'm sure there's a ton of options for us to explore, but right now, I'm lost in trying to make sure my friend has as much fun as possible with this build. Obviously, Bloodrager is all about the rage/transformation, while Magus is not, but I don't particularly want to upstage him with my ability to emulate the character's Devil Trigger, while leaving him no option to do so. The biggest thing I'm concerned about is getting his katana to synergize well with his high dexterity and intelligence bonus, as well as somehow get him a transformation. Obviously a katana wielder, to act as YamatoĪs you can see, things aren't as fleshed out for his build, because we don't know Kensai or Magus in general that well. Large Bastard Sword, or Greatsword to act as Rebellion.įor my friend, playing "Vergil", he's very busy and unable to plan out builds in advance like I am able to, so I'm making sure to help him out as much as I can. Replace powers for Beast Totem Line and Come and Get Meįeats that might focus around taunting enemies, demons. Primalist Urban Bloodrager, Abyssal Bloodline Pitborn Tiefling with Pass for Human, Reactionary and Fate's Favored Actually plan a build out instead of bumbling in the moment and regretting choices, and especially try to get close to their appearances in DMC3.įor myself, playing as "Dante", I've got the idea of: In an upcoming Wrath of the Righteous game, me and a friend have decided to basically emulate Dante and Vergil, from the Devil May Cry series. I've made a post or two about this a couple months ago, but I've been trying to pin down something more concrete.
